We are a sick bunch. No seriously, I don't think we've made it a week without a doctor's copay this entire year. This week is no exception. Olivia has an allergist appointment Wednesday, I have a derm appt Thursday, and we got to add another appointment for Clara today.
Clara's been complaining of a headache off and on for a few weeks now. It started right around when Olivia had strep, and it increased every time Olivia got her medicine. Parent diagnosis, Clara wants medicineitis. This past week and a half, she's been having potty accidents. No matter how often she goes to the bathroom, she still seems to need to go 30 minutes later. Finally yesterday over dinner I told Mike I was going to take her in. Maybe she had a UTI (but no other symptoms), maybe urinary retention, or maybe diabetes. I was really nervous it was the last one, she's been drinking a lot, and ugh, your mind just goes to the worst case scenario.
We got an appointment for 2:10, and went about our day as usual. Workout class in the morning, visited the library for some new reads (some cute pictures below of my little Frankensteins), and home for lunch and quiet time. Then we headed over to the doctors to figure out what was up.
I won't bore you with the details, but the short version is, MY HAND TOUCHED TOILET WATER, Clara isn't diabetic, and she stinkin has strep. I mean really? No fever, no sore throat, nothing. And she's probably had it since Olivia did, since strep can cause headaches, especially for the little people. So she's been in preschool, at birthday parties, in workout class, at church, EVERYWHERE, spreading strep. And her rash flair on her leg is probably due to the strep. So does that mean I can cancel the dermatologist appointment she has next week? ;)
