Mother's Day....what a wonderful day. Yes, as a mother, it allows you some special pampering and love. That isn't my favorite part (though I won't complain). The best part of Mother's Day as a mom is taking the time to look at the two beautiful children I am raising. To oooh and awww at their hand made cards and gifts, their flowers, their hugs and kisses. Nothing in the world can prepare you to become a mother. It is infinitely harder, and at the same time infinitely more rewarding, than any other thing you will do in your life. When you child is hurt and turns to you, when your child is bursting with pride and you have to "come see!", when you child interacts with others and you see their beautiful, kind, souls, then, then, the meaning of life is clear. The love of God is real, so real, because now you can see how someone can love without boundaries. You realize what your own mom did, what she gave up, her hopes for you. You understand her fears, boundaries, and most of all love. Not everyone is blessed to be a mom. Of those that are, none of us has a "perfect" child. But in a mom's eyes, she got the best ones. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there :)
Me and my girls in our "unglamour" shot!
