When did dinner at a sandwich joint and a trip to the grocery store become date night? If you're 21 and reading this, you're probbaly horrified, and feeling pretty sorry for me right now. But if you're a mom of young kids who's been married more than a decade, you know the secret.
The secret is time together. In the presence of the one you love. It doesn't have to be fancy. It doesn't have to be expensive. It DOES have to include that special person. Tonight the girls have Awana, and Mike and I have date night. At the beginning of the school year, we went to dinners, dessert, and as always had a great time.
One week we decided to run to the store to grab a few things, and realized we had just as much fun. Some weeks we even skip dinner and, dare I say it, shop at Meijers AND Sam's on the same night.
Here's my date tonight. Isn't he handsome? Love this guy!!!
