Since tomorrow is going to be taken up with Olivia's dance practice and recital, we celebrated her birthday a day early. Olivia requested chocolate cake with chocolate icing (a girl after my own heart!). We planned to do the kit kat cake again but I didn't buy enough kit kats. Olivia and Clara donated some short ones from their candy stash and we got creative :)
We let Olivia pick our dinner destination and she chose Red Robin, mainly for the free dessert (because obviously cake isn't enough). We had a nice, relaxed dinner. Except maybe I tensed up a little when the servers sang to Olivia. I have a being watched complex, but it's your kid and her day so what the heck?
They were nice enough to bring Clara ice cream too :)
When we got home Olivia found her big present magically left for her in the living room. She was pretty happy! We sang happy birthday and she blew out her candles (she did decide to wait for a piece of cake until tomorrow). I love the look of joy in all these photos of Clara. She's so happy because CAKE. Clara is my sweet tooth little gal.
We'll be up early tomorrow for dance and for Olivia to open her other gifts :)
